Hi, I’m Tianna. I’m so glad you’re here.

I believe you deserve to live a life you’re excited about—without compromising your health and well-being.

“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” —Audre Lorde

My Story

Originally from North Carolina, I’m a Puerto Rican, Jamaican-Chinese woman with a heart for helping others.

I’m a Scorpio sun, Scorpio moon, and Sagittarius rising—so I’m extremely passionate, feel deeply, and love an adventure. Growing up, I was involved in a little bit of everything: music, chorus, band, theater, sports, and writing. I had dreams of living a big life, but didn’t know exactly what it would look like.

As a first-generation student, my goal of going to college came true at North Carolina State University (Go Pack!), where I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish, directed my all-women cappella group, and became a Caldwell Fellow.

Education & Credentials

  • M.A. in Clinical & Counseling Psychology, Columbia University

  • B.A. in Psychology, B.A. in Spanish from NC State University

  • Fellow at Caldwell Fellows Servant Leadership Program

  • Graduate of the Spirituality Mind Body Institute (SMBI)

  • Graduate of Mic Drop Academy at Mic Drop Workshop®

  • Certified in yoga, mindfulness, and somatic anxiety coaching

  • Certified crisis counselor, Crisis Text Line

After graduation, I moved to a small beach town in Florida to work at the mental health organization To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA). On my lunch breaks, I started attending local yoga classes, which became less about movement and more about learning to actually rest—something I hadn’t done at all throughout my college years.

This led me to return home to NC to complete a yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center, and eventually to graduate school at Columbia University, where I earned an M.A. in Psychology in Education at the Spirituality Mind Body Institute. I conducted research, taught mindfulness workshops on campus, and interned at a substance use treatment center—driven by a growing conviction that we deserve tools to help us thrive, not just survive.

As much as I loved working in mental health, I’m a creative at heart—which led me to follow my Devil Wears Prada dreams. I took a leap of faith and pivoted to lifestyle journalism, becoming a writer and editor. Since then, I’ve reported on health, wellness, fitness, relationships, and everything in between.

Most recently, I was the Associate Health & Wellness Editor at Women’s Health magazine, working across digital and print. My articles have also been published in Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Well+Good, mindbodygreen, PopSugar, and StyleCaster. I recently started my own Substack, No Sunday Scaries, where I write about wellness, travel, and share musings on life.

Along the way, I started getting asked to speak professionally with universities and companies—and it was then that the keynote speaking world found me. I began getting booked around the U.S. to speak at events, and to date, I’ve spoken with over 120 audiences in almost all 50 states.

My mission is to help you feel seen, affirmed, and less alone in the world. I believe well-being and creativity are the keys to unlocking inner freedom—at school, work, and in life. My new framework, The Rough Draft Mindset™, can help you get there.

These days, I live a pretty nomadic life, always flying to the next destination. When I’m not working, you can find me in a cozy bookstore drinking matcha and getting lost in stories.

Book me to speak, hire me as your coach, or pitch me a story idea. Let’s have some fun.
